I speak often but rarely pause to listen.
Many times it seems I forget to whom I speak,
Though I offer Him thanks because I am forgiven.
I must not forget He desires me to be meek.
Lest I stop to listen how will I know where I should go?
If I only follow my own counsel I will surely fall.
Therefore I must hold my tongue and listen with my heart to know,
The instruction I should follow in order to answer His call.
God uses a two way radio; He will speak to us if we wait.
All too often we forget this and tell Him our woe,
We prefer to enlist Him to protect our friends and fate.
If only we remembered to listen He would tell us all we need know.
Our trouble in prayer does not come from above but from inside.
To truly hear His direction we need to occasionally remain silent.
If we ask His plan but do not listen how can we know the way He will guide?
We should remain silent once we ask and He will give us our assignment.
