The Christmas Tree

Evergreen as the Christmas tree is the Father’s love
An eternal light shines and guides from above
We are the branches and He the tree
He said "you cannot bear spiritual fruit lest you abide in me”

The canes crimson and white recall the sacrifice
To cleanse us, only his life and stripes would suffice
Silver and gold décor symbolize his royalty
Just as the angels declared his authority

Strung ‘round the tree are lights in all colors
Just as He offers grace to all comers
This little light of yours and mine
Let it shine, for it is indeed Christmas time
